Anonymous Scratch-It Winner in Merriwa

NSW Lotteries has said a Merriwa shopper has won $10,000 on a $1.10 Raining Cash Instant Scratch-It ticket last week, which was purchased from the Merriwa Newsagency.

Merriwa Newsagency team member Libby Cashen said she was delighted to discover her outlet had sold a top prize winning Instant Scratch-Its tickets.

“Lucky them!” she exclaimed.

“I hope it was me that sold it to them.

“It’s always great to hear when one of our customers wins and we wish this winner all the very best with their prize. I hope they’ve got something nice planned for it!”

NSW Lotteries spokesperson Matt Hart said the Merriwa winner was one of the dozens of happy Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners from New South Wales during recent months.

“Many winners tell us when they first reveal a top prize, they don’t believe their eyes and check it over and over again to make sure,” he said.

“But once the prize hits their bank account, they know it’s real and use it to enjoy a holiday, buy a new car, or even pay off part of the mortgage. One winner even told us he bought several Dyson vacuum cleaners – one for each of his friends.”

In the 12 months to 30 June 2018, there were 158 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across the Lott’s jurisdictions totalling more than $11.28 million.
