Veteran’s Golf Report: June 26
By Graham Turvey
Minus temperatures and some tricky pin positions greeted the 29 Vets who played a stroke and putting (MEDAL) event at Aberdeen on Tuesday, June 26. The course is looking quite green and was presented in immaculate condition, as is usual. A special thank you to Chris and Paul Constable who collate our scores and handicaps each week – most appreciated indeed.
The winner with nett 67 was Ross Banks (he also had the best scratch score of 74 off the stick), from Secretary Graham Guest 2nd 69, Treasurer Bob Minch 3rd 70 and Rod Auld 4th 72 C/B.
Balls went to Tommy Thompson 72, Jock O’Connor and George Campbell 73, Captain Phil Ledgerwood, Gary Morley, Greg Squires and Graham Huggins 74 and Jeff McKeon and Bob Thorley 75.
The putting wine, kindly donated by Aberdeen Sport and Recreation Club was won by Bob Thorley with 28 putts. The Bradman trophy, kindly donated by Gary Morley was won by Red Palmer.
