Total Fire Ban Tomorrow

AT midnight tonight a total fire ban for the Greater Hunter, Greater Sydney and North Western will come into effect.

The forecast hot and windy conditions for tomorrow are a dangerous combination for bush fires and the amount of dry grass in the Upper Hunter is further cause for concern.

No fires may be lit in the open and all fire permits are suspended.

During severe to very high fire conditions the Rural Fire Service recommends:

• well prepared homes which are actively defended can provide a safety during a fire;
• follow your bush fire survival plan and
• monitor the RFS website for updates: www.rfs.nsw.gov.au.
