Second Recommendation to Refuse
ON Monday a recommendation to refuse the development application of MacCallum Inglis to demolish the Gold Digger’s Arms at 77 Main Street, Scone will be on Council’s agenda.
The application was first put to Council at the meeting in August, with a decision deferred to allow the applicant time to provide more information to Council’s Development and Environment Committee.
The Committee met last week to consider the additional information from MacCallum Inglis and opponents to the application and resolved to recommend Council refuse the application.
Councillors Wayne Bedggood and Lee Watts voting for the refusal, while Cr Ron Campbell voted against.
Cr Watts had declared a conflict of interest in August due to a friend being a tenant of the building, however the tenant has now vacated and she is able to vote.
People who wish to speak for or against the application at the Council meeting need to complete a Public Participation form and submit it to Council before 12 midday on Monday.
The full minutes of the development and environment committee can be found on page 26: Council Agenda November 27.
