Scone Golf Report: Sept 19-26

Scone golfers have started playing on alternate local courses and a number have been attending open days in the Hunter area as well.
The ladies had a group of eight head to Merriwa on September 20 for their Open Day and it was also the Hunter River District Ladies Sandgreen Championship. In extremely windy conditions, Noreen Marshall was the most successful on the day winning the Division 2 nett prize.
On Thursday, September 21, Jo Brown had the best score at Muswellbrook with 38 points, whilst Lyn Banks was runner up on Saturday at the same course. On Monday, September 25 in windy conditions, Narelle Rutter and Lyn Banks teamed up in the Hunter Valley Open Day with Lyn winning the Division 1 straight drive.
On Thursday, September 28, the ladies will play an 18 Hole Stableford at Aberdeen and follow this with a game at Muswellbrook the following week. The next event on the Hunter River calendar is the GolfNSW 4BBB qualifying event and daily event at Denman on Monday October 9.
Meanwhile, the men golfers spread their games around last weekend with players heading to Aberdeen, Muswellbrook, Denman and Murrurundi. On Saturday, September 30, the men are encouraged to support the Muswellbrook Bayswater Cup.
