Scone Stock Report: September 5
By Stuart Sheldrake
DUE to dry conditions there was increased yarding of 1,233, which was plainer over all.
There were a few more export cattle yarded with a good run of store bullocks, milk and two teeth weighing between 500 and 600 kilos.
Those steers were probably 10 to 15 cents dearer.
The cow market was very similar on quality and sold to fully firm rates.
Majority of the yarding not very good kill cattle were penned, the majority was plainer weaner and plainer yearling types.
Good lines of light weaners between 250-300 kilos for both steers and heifers they were 5 to 8 cents dearer.
Secondary cattle are still feeling the effects of the season and probably sold firm to maybe slightly easier in parts.
There were also some runs of feeder heifers and feeder steers weighing between 350 and 450 kilos which sold to cheaper trends.
