Scone Art Prize Opening
THERE are more than 200 entries for the Scone Art Prize which opens on Friday night.
Artists from throughout New South Wales and some from interstate have entered the prize submitting works of ceramics, sculptures, paintings and drawings competing for $5,000 in prize money.
Pam McLeay of Scone Arts and Crafts is excited about this years event.
“We have some really nice pictures and the open section is any subject media,” said Ms McLeay.
“There is a section for the Upper Hunter and Muswellbrook Shires as well, they are all five hundred dollars and the Paradice prize is five thousand dollars.
“The judging will happen later this week and there will be much hilarity on Friday night,” said Pam McLeay.
Opening night is on Friday at 6.30pm at the Arts and Crafts hall in Kingdon Street with entry is $15 dollars with food and refreshments provided, children under 16 have free entry.
The exhibition is open every day between 10am and 4pm every day until Saturday, September 16 with the final day Sunday, September 17 where it is open until 1pm.
