On Saturday, August 19 the men will play an 18 Hole Stableford for Scott Lye and Trevor Wilson’s Trophy whilst many of the ladies will support Murrurundi Ladies Open Day.

On Thursday, August 10 the ladies played an 18 Hole Stableford. The good field started in perfect weather, but golf then became more difficult as windy conditions set in. The winner was Lyn Banks who had a fantastic round of one over par, which comprised 17 pars and one bogie for a personal best of 74. This equated to 45 points to be the winner of the Scone Royal Hotel Trophy. Doon MacCallum with 40 points would have been disappointed to be the runner up, as she had a score which would normally have been enough to win.

These two players won balls along with Sue Watts 38, Julie Leckie 35, Judy Carmody 34, Annie Woods and  Ann Cameron 33 points. Sue Watts also won the NTP on the 17th.

In the ladies stableford event on Saturday August 12, Lyn Banks continued her good run of form with 42 points to be the clear winner and further reduce her handicap.

Scone players Sally Archibald, Jo Brown, Wendy Clift and Julie Leckie competed in the ladies Holden Scramble at Quirindi on Sunday August 13. They had a successful day finishing runners up with 60 nett, a score which was boosted by a hole in one by Jo Brown! Two Scone teams will try their luck in the Muswellbrook event on Wednesday August 16.

The ladies will play the 7th Medal round on August 17 for the Melanie’s Jewellers Trophy.
