Pedestrian Killed South of Aberdeen

A man has died after being hit by a vehicle on the New England Highway approximately five kilometres south of Aberdeen this morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 4:40am and found the man had sustained multiple injuries and died at the scene.

The female driver of the vehicle remained at the scene to provide assistance and has been taken to Muswellbrook hospital for mandatory testing.

Traffic on the highway is expected to be disrupted and motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.

Dartbrook and Kayuga Roads can be used to avoid the accident scene, however driving with caution is recommended on these roads.
