Hoedown Planned with Slim
THE Virtual Shed tours have proved popular with local men and the next trip will be to Buttai Barn to celebrate the music of Slim Dusty on August 14.
Belinda McKenzie project officer for the Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre Virtual Shed Project said the men’s tours are important for men’s health enabling a great opportunity for men to talk freely and openly with other men about health, social and local issues.
“These men’s tours have grown in popularity and are well received to the point that they book out quickly and this will no doubt be the response to this great day of entertainment,” she said.
The Colonial Lunch at Buttai Barn will start at 10:30am with piping hot scones with jam and cream and bottomless tea or coffee followed by a hearty home-baked carvery lunch and dessert with live entertainment celebrating the great Slim Dusty.
The two hour show includes some insight into the origins of the songs, touching on the different stages of a wonderful career that was the soundtrack for so many people’s lives.
To book your place on the trip you can download the Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre’s booking form, visit the Centre and complete the booking form or email a request for electronic information to belinda@snrc.com.au.
Bookings will close at 3.30pm on July 17 so that catering numbers can be provided and the coach confirmed.
A donation of $15 is required at the time of booking with the balance of costs subsidised by project funding.
