Scone Golf, April 1
AT Scone golf course on Saturday April 1, the men played and 18 Hole Stroke / Stableford for the Scone RSL Group Monthly Mug.
With further rain during the week the fairways were long and heavy making play difficult.
Adam Moore had a fine round of 68 nett to be the Mug and A Grade winner, B Grade winner was Jim Elder who had 38 points and C Grade went to Scott Lye with 37 points.
These players have made a good start in the first round of the President’s trophy with round two on April 15.
George Davidson won the NTP on the 2nd / 11th with a shot to 3.10 metres.
On the 8th / 17th David Bradshaw was the winner with his shot to 4.19 metres.
The ball winners were Adam Moore 40, Jim Elder 38, Scott Lye 37, Paul Smart 36, Col Solway, Tony O’Neill 35, Mark Hayes 34 and Joel Woods 33 points on a countback.
In the ladies stableford, the players found the going tough with Lyn Banks having the best score of 28 points to win the Scone RSL Group prize.
On Saturday, April 8 the event is an 18 Hole Stableford for Clayton Rogers’ trophy and it is also round 2 of the R. J. Lowrie Cup. Players need to arrange their round 1 Kevans Knockout matches by April 15.
The ladies will play an 18 Hole Stroke / Stableford on Thursday April 6 for the second GNSW medal round, and Monthly Medal for the Melanie’s Jewellers prize.
The pennant team will play round 3 of the HRDGA season against Branxton at The Vintage on Monday April 3 and some ladies will play in Aberdeen’s Open Day on Wednesday April 5.
A very successful ladies Open Day was held at Scone on Thursday March 30, in difficult wet conditions for much of the day. A full report is in a separate article.
