Scone Stock Report: Feb 28
By Stuart Sheldrake
A big increase in numbers saw over 1800 penned due to dry conditions and feed becoming short in areas.
A similar yarding of cows to last week with a much plainer offering, good cows sold to firm rates with the plainer cows five to six cents cheaper, these prices are OK considering the larger numbers are expected to push the price back.
There was a large number weaner cattle with some good finished cattle on offer that sold ten to fifteen cents cheaper.
Llight weaner cattle, especially secondary lines were 20 to 25 cents cheaper with good lines up to 20 cents cheaper.
Most store cattle were 15 to 25 cents cheaper.
There is a clearing sale at the Scone Sale Yards on Saturday with outside entries included. For more information call Stuart Sheldrake on 0403 129357
