Electricity Work Post-Poned
MURRURUNDI residents were preparing for a power outage on Sunday, but due to the heat Essential Energy has post-poned the work.
They will still conduct any emergency repair work needed, but minimise any power outages as a result of the heat.
Susan Millgate who runs Aroma’s Cafe in Murrurundi said she was relieved they would still be open for business on Sunday.
The power outage was planned to occur between 5am and 11am which would have caused the cafes in Murrurundi to close on what is typically their busiest period of trade.
“We have people travel from Scone and Muswellbrook to have breakfast here on a Sunday morning,” said Mrs Millgate.
“There are also a lot of regular customers travelling down the highway who plan their breakfast stop here on Sunday’s,” she said.
“I am glad to say we will still be open and the coffee machine will be on,” Susan Millgate said.
Essential Energy encourage residents to report any outages: 132 080.
