Police Update: February 2, 2017
HEAT COMES DOWN ON LATE NIGHT DIPPERS
ON Sunday at approximately 12:40am witnesses noticed a group of people had broken through the fence of the Scone War Memorial Swimming pool to take a dip.
The police stopped a vehicle which was leaving the area and questioned the driver and passenger, who admitted they had been for a late night swim with some mates.
The pair were issued an infringement for enter enclosed lands without lawful excuse.
LOST CONTROL AT GUNDY
A 17 year old from Woolooma lost control of the white Toyota Hilux he was driving on Gundy Road last Wednesday resulting in the vehicle rolling three or four times and minor injuries to himself and his 17 year old passenger from Muswellbrook.
The driver told police he was travelling west on Gundy Road, Gundy at a speed of approximately 80 kilometres an hour and was going up a hill through a slight left hand sweeping bend when he was distracted by a new light on the centre console of his vehicle.
When the driver looked back to the road he was headed for a guard rail on the left hand side of the road and before he could react hit the guardrail.
The driver said he veered harshly to prevent further impact and then lost control and entered a sideways slide.
The vehicle gained traction during the slide which caused the vehicle to roll three or four times and then come to rest in a southerly direction across the breadth of the west bound lane approximately 100 metres from where the vehicle had struck the guardrail.
The vehicle sustained total damage, while the occupants sustained minor lacerations and bruising.
The driver was issued with an infringement notice for negligent driving.
