More Hot Days and Warm Nights
There will not be any reprieve from the hot weather until late Sunday night and while the temperature high today is 41 the overnight low will only be 22 degrees according to Rebecca from the Bureau of Meteorology.
“Scone will reach atop of 41 degrees today, parts of the lower Hunter have already reached 40 degrees and it will reach Scone later today,” said Rebecca.
“That hot weather will stick around tomorrow and probably Sunday as well until we see any change,” she said.
“There is a weak southerly change coming up the coast tomorrow, but it won’t reach far enough inland to affect Scone, so it will remain in the hot air mass until and on Sunday evening and Monday there will be a stronger southerly change coming up the coast and that one will penetrate far enough inland to Scone that it will help push out that hot air mass, so Monday we’re looking at temperatures back in the high 20’s rather than the high 30’s which will be a welcome relief,” she said.
The overnight minimum temperatures are likely to stay pretty muggy as well though, last night it got down to 16.6 degrees, but tonight it is expected to be a far bit warmer than that because we will probably have a lot of cloud cover over the region tonight so tonight is only expected to get down to around 24 degrees, so it will be quite a warm not and the same goes for Saturday night to Sunday when we are expecting a low of 22 degrees,” she said.
“Tomorrow it’s quite possible to see a shower or perhaps a thunderstorm during the day and the same on Sunday,” Rebecca said.
