Accident At Wingen

THE Westpac Rescue Helicopter is flying to a motor vehicle accident on the New England Highway at Wingen.

Update: The Traffic Management Centre has advised the New England Highway is blocked in both directions near Ashbrook Road, Wingen.

Update 2: At 3:52pm to the TMC advised one lane of the highway has reopened.

Update 3: At 4:20pm police confirmed it was a two vehicle accident, with a sole occupant in each, both were female. One was taken to the John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition and the other is assisting police.

Update 4: At 4:35pm the Westpac Rescue Helicopter confirmed their patient is a 51 year old female who has suffered a serious arm injury, but is in a stable condition. She has been taken to the John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle.
