Community Remembers Adam O’Regan
MORE than 2,000 people attended the funeral service of Adam O’Regan, who died in an accident near Gundy last week.
Scone Grammar School Choir sang “When I Grow Up”, which Reverend Nate Atkinson said was reflective of Adam’s infectious joy.
Stuart Harborne spoke of their days at Cranbrook, Adam’s ability to ‘lizard spit’, his natural horsemanship and generous spirit.
Sam Paradice recounted Adam’s time at Robb College in Armidale, time living by the beach, luring his wife Sally back from Uganda and finally moving to his slice of heaven on earth on the banks of the Hunter River with Sally and the children, with horses around him and making a living from two things he loved showcasing this beautiful country area and meeting new people.
Sam said Adam had an ability to always keep things light-hearted and was able to put any challenge into perspective.
Allison Sedgwick read a piece prepared by Sally and their children Tully, Alby and Daniel telling Adam they knew he was still with them, they all felt his presence and even though the ties would remain forever strong, they would always miss him.
The family also thanked people who attended the funeral for their love and support during this difficult time and said they felt blessed to be surrounded by so much love.
The funeral of the Balmain father killed in the accident was also held today in Sydney.
