Peak in the Pages and Isis
BOTH the Pages and Isis Rivers peaked sharply today.
At Blandford the Pages River peaked at 3.6 metres at 8am, with the peak flow reaching Gundy just after 3:30pm and measuring approximately 2.6 metres; the flow through the river at Gundy today was more than 19,000 mega litres.
The Isis at Lower Timor was more than 2.5 metres and more than 14,000 mega litres.
A hydrologist from the Bureau of Meterology said while the rain is moving out today there is likely to be more rain on the horizon.
“When the catchment is wet it doesn’t take much to get a fresh through the river systems,” he said.
“There was also a peak in the Pages on September 2nd, it reached 3.9 metres at Blandford, 2.1 metres at Gundy and 3.6metres at Aberdeen,” the hydrologist said.
