More Rail Disruption May Occur
THE Australian Rail Track Corporation has urged customers to prepare for major disruption to passenger services during the next 48 hours, which may extend into next week.
John Fullerton, chief executive officer of the ARTC said the were disappointed with the disruption being caused to the rail network by the Union action.
“We remain very disappointed that the combined unions are continuing with this action and causing the extensive disruptions that our customers are experiencing,” said Mr Fullerton.
“Everyday we are getting feedback that the public are being frustrated unnecessarily by this action, missing important family events, having their holidays ruined and arriving late to work because they have been caught up unfairly,” he said.
“We continue to urge the community to plan ahead and be across all of the potential impacts on their travel,” John Fullerton said.
Passenger rail services in the Upper Hunter will be replaced by bus services for the 48 hour period of industrial action, which begins at 7am this morning.
All passengers are advised to check the Transport NSW website before travelling: www.transportnsw.info.
