Scone Hockey: Round 15 Draw

  Last weekend Scone Hockey Club had three teams represent as Hunter in the Half State Women’s Master’s Championships at Taree: the over 35’s, over 40’s and the over 50’s. The over 35’s had six round games in division 5 and came away with two wins, one draw and three losses finishing fifth in the their division. The over 40’s played five round games with the bare 11 players and no reserves. Although unfortunate not to come away with a win games were close with only a 1 or 2 goal difference. The ladies played hard and never gave up. The over 50’s showed that they still have the skill and ability to run that paddock. Again playing five round games, although four games didn’t see that ‘w’ on the board they finished with a draw and finished sixth in their division. As always the ladies had a fantastic weekend together and are already getting organised for next year’s event which will be held in Grafton.

  Maitland Carnival: To all juniors, if you have not put your name down for the Maitland Carnival being held on Sunday, August 21 you must do so as soon as possible. Nominations close at the end of this week. It is for U10s, U13s and U16s. The U10s and U13s will be played on grass with U16s on turf.

• Fundraiser: If you haven’t already started getting organised for the annual fundraiser evening incorporating the Senior Presentation on Saturday, August 27 now is the time to do so! Information will be attached to emails sent out this week. Tickets and names are available from the Scone Sports Store from Wednesday, August 3. There are some great prizes up for grabs so be sure not to miss buying some tickets.
• Washout Rounds: This weekend will be a double header for senior teams. Washed out Round 6 is being played for the juniors on Saturday, with Round 14 for the seniors. Washed out Round 10 for the seniors is being played on Sunday morning. Please be sure to take note of times and umpire allocations.

• Umpiring: Any issues with umpiring please contact Dave Hollis on 0417 290 107 to discuss options. First option is replacement within team
