Thoroughbreds Fundraiser

THE Scone Thoroughbreds had a fund raising event last Saturday evening, following the matches against Aberdeen in the afternoon.
The entertainment was provided by ‘Sporting Legends’ Max Krilich and ‘Miracle’ Mal Johnston.
A feature of the night was an auction of a set of jumpers which were the same as those worn in the first grade game.
The jumpers were the same style as that worn by the 1996 Premiership winning team.
The money raised from the auction was dedicated to a Charity rather than to the Club, and the response by those present was very much appreciated.
Eighteen jumpers went to auction and they raised just under $10,000 which was wonderful.
President of the Thoroughbreds, Scott Pennell was overwhelmed with the response.
“This is a terrific example of the type of people who support our Club,” said Mr Pennell
“The money raised from this auction will go to a well deserving charity and I think all involved in the event should be very proud of this outcome,” he said.
“The night overall has been a great success and our thanks to all who contributed,” Scott Pennell said.
