$3.1 Million Worth of Yearlings Sold
THE two day Inglis Scone Yearling sale wrapped today with 220 horses sold for a total of $3.15 million.
The top priced horse was a filly by Wandjina and Galleries from Southern Cross Thoroughbreds near Wingen which sold for $110,000.
Yesterday there were three lots which sold for more than $100,000.
Jonathan D’Arcy, director of bloodstock for Inglis said it is a sale which is growing each year.
“It was slightly down on last year, but a clearance rate of 85 percent which is really pleasing, it was a really solid sale,” said Mr D’Arcy.
“We have had vendors from people with just one horse to sell through to some of the leading studs in the area, such as Arrowfield, Widden, Vinery and Segenhoe,” he said.
“The sale attracts buyers here from Hong Kong, New Zealand and certainly all of the states throughout Australia, it is a sale that is growing every year,” he said.
“It is a sale we really enjoy conducting we share the proceeds with one percent going to the Hunter Thoroughbred Breeders Association for training and research and one percent goes to the local Council, which is the highest revenue earner for them at White Park,” Jonathan D’Arcy said.
