Police Confirm Murder Investigation

LOCAL police have confirmed the investigation into the death of a 41 year old man in Parker Street, Scone is now a murder investigation.

Inspector Joanne Schultz described the injuries of the deceased as traumatic and significant.

The weapon used and the cause of death are yet to be determined.

The two men were known to each other, however the nature of their relationship is still to be defined.

“It’s yet to be formally established, but they are known to each other,” said Inspector Schultz.

“We are still trying to find out the exact circumstances as to if he had been staying or not staying, we know they were together in the same location last night and that’s all we have at this stage,” she said.

“…the death occurred sometime through the night,” she said.

“Detectives are still establishing the full timeline of the events,” Inspector Joanne Schultz said.

The 20 year old man who is in police custody is yet to be formally charged.

Neither of the men were known to police.
