Hunter Train Services Disrupted

Filed in Recent News by August 3, 2016

BOTH passenger trains and freight trains in the Hunter will be disrupted due to industrial action this week.

While bus services are being scheduled to replace passenger train services, the Australian Rail Corporation urges passengers to consider all options including private transport.

All passengers are advised to check the Transport NSW website before travelling: www.transportnsw.info.

John Fullerton, chief executive officer of Australian Rail Transport Corporation, said they apologise for the disruption and are working with the Unions to resolve the enterprise agreement.

“We’re working closely with our customers to manage this process safely but at this stage we expect the Hunter coal network to come to a halt over the next few days and widespread passenger disruptions particularly later in the week,” said Mr Fullerton.

“We urge passenger train customers to plan ahead, check with their passenger operator and consider arranging alternative transport, particularly if they have any important appointments like doctor visits,” he said.
