He Wasn’t Alone
REBECCA Lambkin, the wife of Christopher Lamkin who died when his car collided with a power pole on the Golden Highway on Saturday night said she was relieved to learn her husband was not alone when he passed away.
Rebecca has been to the scene of the accident and laid flowers, she said visiting the spot helped her make sense of what had happened.
“I did get a message from a lady and she told me he was not alone, that he was alive when her and her mum arrived on the scene and that they stayed with him,” said Ms Lambkin.
“She also left a note at the scene with flowers; it was good to know he didn’t pass away alone,” she said.
“She said no one would pull over, she tried five times with people going past and she was just shattered,” she said.
“I know I couldn’t drive past an accident, but it was just a blessing that he wasn’t alone, because he didn’t like being alone,” Rebecca Lambkin said.
The family moved to Scone four years ago, their children go to Scone Primary and the local Kindergarten and Christopher had been working milking cows at Dalswinton.
“We had seven children, six together, our youngest is two and our eldest just turned nine the day before he passed away,” she said.
“He was a brilliant dad,” she said.
“We met at Muswellbrook high school and there was just a spark in his eye and just his funny jokes that drew me to him,” she said.
“It’s hard to be in my own house, there are lots of memories there and it feels empty there without him, so I am staying with my parents in Muswellbrook,” she said.
“I would love to say I am thankful to have such an amazing husband that loved me and children more than life itself and may he RIP this is not a goodbye, it is see you soon sweetheart,” said Ms Lambkin.
On the night that Christopher passed away he had been at party and was driving back home to be with Rebecca.
