UPDATE: Wednesday, September 21 – Unfortunately Tess, Mona Kinght’s much loved 13 year old shitsu cross passed away today. “Nan is understandably upset and says how much that little dog loved her, and would go everywhere with,” said her granddaughter Haylee Knight.
“Everyone is saddened that it has happened and are wanting to help,” said Haylee Knight, granddaughter of Mona Knight.
“There are so many people offering clothes and food and money, we’ve already had people donate $260 on the GoFund me page in just one day, so that’s amazing,” she said.
“When she comes home from hospital she will need a lift chair because that’s how she sleeps and a walking frame and she’s going to need help to raise money to demolish the house because there is asbestos,” she said.
“Assessors have been there today and they have blockaded the house off because it is hazardous, so it will cost a lot more money to have the asbestos removed, so it’s all adding up,” she said.
“Nan’s always helped everyone, she has helped a heap of people in the community doing meals on wheels when she was able to and she has the biggest heart, so anyway we can make things easier on her after losing her house,” Haylee Knight said.
Mona’s much loved 13 year old shitsu-cross Tessa suffered smoke inhalation in the fire and is being cared for by Pet Medical in Scone.
“They have a donation tin to help with Tessa’s medical bill as well,” said Haylee.
“Tessa is still sedated, is on an IV (intravenous) and is on antibiotics for an infection on her lungs and we are hoping she pulls through,” Haylee Knight said.
