2017 Citizen of the Year
THE Upper Hunter Shire Council Citizen of the Year and also recipient of the Hunter McLoughlin Memorial Citizen of the Year award was Joan Manning.
Mrs Manning received enthusiastic applause when announced as the winner of the awards at Scone this morning, was succinct and understated in her address.
“I’ll probably cry,” she warned.
True to her word she welled with emotion as she thanked her family for their support through her many community activities.
“I’ve loved what I’ve done, I love Scone, I love the community and it is one of the best placed to live in!”
When accepting her second award Mrs Manning simply said, “just a quick thank you.”
