White Park identified as preferred covid testing location

Filed in Just In by August 27, 2021

THE Upper Hunter Shire Council has identified White Park as the preferred location for Covid-19 testing, if there is an outbreak in the community and mass testing is required.

White Park was chosen because it is centrally located, has access space and services such as toilets, off-street parking and electricity supply.

There has also been a traffic plan developed, which will change some of the traffic flows in streets adjacent to White Park.

Vehicles will enter from Hill Street and exit onto Guernsey Street to allow for queuing within the grounds.

The Council has advised businesses and residences in the areas, will not have access to their properties blocked.

To date no cases have been identified in the local government area during the delta outbreak and there has been no detection of the virus in local sewerage.
