Wellbeing Superspreader: “The Carer”

Filed in Just In by January 27, 2021

THERE is no better way to describe the newest Wellbeing Superspreader, Courtney Wicks, other than “The Carer.”

Any way you look at it, this proud Indigenous Woman form the Bundjalung Nation is doing her best to make Scone a better place.

Courtney works as a Clinical Support officer at Scone Hospital, has provided care through a long association with the Scone branch of the Australian Breast Feeding Association and is part of the Anglican Church.

She’s also the long-term secretary of the Scone Public School P&C and her husband Darren, who works as a rural contractor, is president.

This month, Courtney will be trained by a certified Wellbeing Coach and come February 1, she will be asking his friends, family and work colleagues to monitor for symptoms such as greater happiness, improved physical health, better relationships less stress and improves coping within workplaces.

Locals can follow the Wellbeing Superspreader social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram to see regular updates showcasing steps Courtney and the other Superspreaders are taking to infect Scone with positive wellbeing.

When it comes to horses, Courtney is the odd one out in her family, who are all enthusiastic members of the Scone Team Penning association.

You might spot her supporting her stepson James at Scone Grammar or daughters Isla-Rose and Neve at dance and touch football.

Courtney joins nine other Wellbeing Superspreaders, in an effort to help the Where There’s A Will (WTAW) Foundation achieve maximum positive wellbeing in Scone.

The Wellbeing Superspreader pilot project is funded by the Hunter New England Primary Health Network and if Scone proves successful, WTAW hopes the outbreak will spread to other towns across the Upper Hunter and beyond, with a goal of achieving widespread wellbeing and good mental health.

Stay tuned for tomorrows announcement on who “The Tradie” is!
