State’s Covid status today

MUSWELLBROOK may be headed into lockdown, with a decision to be made this afternoon.

NSW Health are also reviewing the infections in Port Macquarie and Kempsey for lockdown.

Brad Hazzard, NSW Minister for Health said people need to be vaccinated as a matter of urgency.

“You’re kidding yourself if you don’t think you need to get vaccinated,” said Mr Hazzard.

“Whatever vaccine is available, is the one you should have,” he said.

“What we do know is vaccinations work and keep people out of hospitals…please go and get vaccinated as quickly as you can in those areas,” Brad Hazzard said.

Covid numbers for today:

  • 865 new cases were identified
  • 1,115 people are hospitalised
  • 213 people are in ICU
  • 113 are being ventilated
  • 7 people have died
    • 1 man in his 40s in Dubbo who was unvaccinated
    • 1 in their 50s
    • 2 in their 70s
    • 2 in their 80s
    • 1 in their 90s

  • 63 – Hunter New England
  • 62 – Illawarra Shoalhaven
  • 53 – Nepean Blue Mountains
  • 31 – Northern Sydney
  • 29 – Central Coast
  • 21 – Western NSW
  • 14 – Southern NSW
  • 5 – Far West
  • 3 – in correctional settings
  • 2 – yet to be assigned to an LHD
