YESTERDAY Scone held a hugely successful store sale, which drew support from outside agents from the likes of Tamworth, Dunedoo and Mudgee.

There were 1013 cattle penned in a very strong market, including an exceptional run of 300 pregnancy test cows and calves, due a property sale in Glencoe, Rouchel.

Cows and calves sold between $2,300 and $3,550 with an average sale of $3,110 in a very solid market.

Young cows also sold in excess of $3,000.

Pre tested lines aged four to eight years old topped at $2,720 and averaged at $2,300.

An amazing line of pregnancy tested heifers topped at $2,625 with an average sale of $2,240.

A very good run of Charolais cross weaners were on offer, with heifers selling for an average of $1,462, topping at $1,560 and steers selling for an average of $1,568 and topping at $1,670.

Yearling cattle also sold very strong, with steers topping at $1,740 and heifers topping at $1,690.

Due to the continued favourable weather conditions that have followed the drought, the Scone store sale is expected to return next month.

Information about future store sales will be available soon.
