THIS morning local police were patrolling Segenhoe Road, Segenhoe following complaints of people travelling at excessive speeds and increased traffic caused by people travelling to the snow on the Barrington, when they clocked a driver travelling west at 163 kilometres an hour in an 80 zone.
The 57 year old male driver of a 2015 black Jeep Grand Cherokee, who had a female passenger in the car, allegedly told police it was a fast vehicle and he was just trying to stretch its legs.
The police issued the man with penalty notice for exceed speed limit over 45 km/h which incurs a $2520, his driver’s license was immediately suspended for six months and the vehicle registration was cancelled for three months.
