People urged to get vaccination certificate ready

Filed in Just In by September 22, 2021
THE state is at 83 percent first vaccination rate and 54.2 percent fully vaccinated. It is predicted the state will reach 70 percent double vaccination on October 8, 80 percent on October 19 and 90 percent on October 29.

Approximately 25 percent of children aged between 12 to 15 years have had their first vaccination. The Premier said it “demonstrates how keen families are to be protected.”

The Premier also said they are working on the roadmap for 80 percent and flagged there will still be different freedoms in place for vaccinated compared to unvaccinated people.

The government has encouraged people to download their vaccination certificate into their electronic wallet, or obtain a paper copy of it from Service NSW in preparation for reaching 70 percent double vaccination. (Read: Getting your proof of vaccination ready.)

A pilot study will begin on October 6 in some regional areas, to test an integration of the vaccine certificate into the Service NSW check in app, so that people can check in and display their vaccine status at the same time.

The Singleton sewerage network has detected remnants of the virus, which is consistent with several identified cases in the Shire. Muswellbrook and Scone sewerage remains negative.
