Filed in Just In by September 25, 2020

THE New South Wales Government has announced a new ‘Going Global program’ designed to lift small and medium-sized businesses back up after COVID-19 by helping them break into international trade and investment markets.

The program involves business matching, networking, promotional opportunities and cultural training, with the goal of getting NSW products into the hands of overseas customers.

NSW Treasury’s Executive Director, Trade Kylie Bell urged eligible businesses to get involved before expressions of interest close on Wednesday, September 30.

“NSW businesses have been heavily impacted by drought, bushfires, floods and COVID-19 and helping them access international consumers is key to recovery,” Ms Bell said.

“NSW is home to some of the best produce and ground-breaking technology and this 10-month program will equip businesses with the tools, knowledge and international connections they need to take their goods to a global market,” she said.

Small and medium enterprises wanting to start exporting or sell into new export markets can register their interest for up to four of the following programs:

  • China – Food and Beverage; and Health and Medtech;
  • India – Agribusiness, Food and Beverage; Health and Medtech; Advanced Manufacturing; and Cleantech;
