De-stress with a free pamper session next Wednesday

THE Senior Citizens Centre is hosting a free pamper day next Wednesday, April 14 for those who may be experiencing hardships and need to take some time away from everyday pressures.

Local hairdressers, a podiatrist and a masseuse will be offering free services at the Senior Citizens Centre on the corner of Oxford Road and Cooper Street, Scone between 9 am and 12.30 pm.

There will also be a range of service providers available on the day, equipped with information and ready to answer any questions.

Lee Watts, Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre manager said the service is working alongside local business and community groups to provide information and pampering to those struggling at this time in their lives.

“There are families that have to weigh up what to pay out each month, families who have to choose food over bills and families who are battling along to keep their heads above water. Whatever the reason we would like to offer an overdue bit of basic pampering,” she said.

“This day is to offer some time away from the pressures of everyday life and raising awareness of how widespread these issues are. We as a community need to understand that this is often a situation that people find themselves in through no fault of their own,” she said.

“We want people in our community to know they are not alone and there are services ready to assist during their hardship.

“I would like to see people enjoy themselves on this day. Thank you to Sophistacut Hair Salon, Boutique Beauty by Sherryn and Karen, for podiatry and all who are volunteering their time to give some special treatments on the day.”

Businesses who would like to offer their services as part of the pamper day are asked to contact Lee Watts on 6545 2562.
