Covid Update: 1,253 hospitalised

THE state average for first vaccinations is now 78.8 percent and second doses 46.5 percent. On current projections the state is predicted to reach 70 percent double vaccination by Thursday, October 14.

In the past 24 hours:

  • 1,135 new cases
  • 1,253 people hospitalised
  • 231 people in intensive care
  • 104 people are being ventilated
  • 2 people have passed away:
    • a woman in her 80s
    • a man in his 50s

New cases in regional health districts:

  • 17 Illawarra Shoalhaven;
  • 14 Hunter New England;
  • 14 Western NSW;
  • 9 Central Coast;
  • 8 in correctional settings,
  • 5 Far West
  • 4 Southern
  • 11 cases are yet to be assigned
