THERE were 35 new cases of covid in the Hunter New England Health district, including five in Cessnock and two in Tamworth.

Hunter New England Health:

  • 35 new cases
  • 20 were infectious in the community
  • 1,039 active cases
  • 28 people are hospitalised
  • 2 people are in intensive care

Hunter New England Health cases by local government area:

  • 13 – Lake Macquarie (469 active cases)
  • 6 – Mid-Coast (93 active cases)
  • 5 – Cessnock (292 active cases)
  • 4 – Maitland (253 active cases)
  • 4 – Newcastle (347 active cases)
  • 2 – Tamworth (81 active cases)
  • 1 – Port Stephens (80 active cases)
 
Statewide covid numbers:
  • 273 new cases of covid
  • 589 people are hospitalised
  • 128 people are in intensive care
  • 69 people require ventilation
  • 4 people have passed away
    • 3 people in their 60s
    • 1 person in their 80s
