Covid: 979 people hospitalised

THERE are now 979 people hospitalised with covid-19, 160 are in intensive care and 63 are being ventilated. Of the cases in ICU, 127 were unvaccinated.

There are currently more than 11,000 active cases of covid-19 in the state and 1,432 new cases were indentified in the past 24 hours.

NSW Health has also reported 12 people have died including a woman in her 30s who tested positively on August 31 and died at home on September 1. The other 11 people included a woman in her 60s, three women in their 70s, four men in their 70s, a man in his 80s, a woman in her 80s and a man in his 90s.

The Premier said, “I just want to stress that you have nothing to fear about getting the disease if you follow the health orders and if you make sure you are vaccinated, that is the best protection; stay at home as much as possible and get vaccinated.”

  • 1 Armidale

*Please note NSW Health released information stating there was 1 case in Parkville, however the Mayor of the Upper Hunter Shire has said police informed him that the woman is believed to be in Sydney and has an address in Parkville.
