Covid-19 vaccination bookings open at Muswellbrook on Monday

ON Monday, 50 year olds and over who cannot access the AstraZeneca vaccine through their GP will be eligible to book into clinics at Muswellbrook, Tamworth, Manning, Armidale or Moree hospitals.

John Hunter and Tamworth hospitals will also start offering the Pfizer vaccine for eligible groups on Monday, with other clinics across the District including Muswellbrook Hospital to start offering Pfizer over the coming month.

Members of the general public aged 40-49 can now register their interest in receiving the Pfizer vaccine via the NSW Government website and will be contacted and offered appointments when bookings become available.

Elizabeth Grist, The District’s lead on the rollout said that opening the clinics to the public for both vaccines is a big step towards accelerating the rollout in our District and encourages anyone who is eligible to get vaccinated as soon as possible.

“The more people that get vaccinated the better placed we are to protect ourselves and our loved ones from COVID-19,” Ms Grist said.

“Our focus will be ensuring that priority groups have access to the vaccine first, so please be patient in waiting for your booking,” she said.

“Everyone who is eligible will receive their vaccine as quickly as possible,” she said.

NSW Health continues to vaccinate eligible people in the priority groups set out by the Federal Government and appointments can be booked through the eligibility checker on the Commonwealth Department of Health website.
