Councillor Brings Christmas Cheer

CR Lee Watts is known for being passionate about the community and at this time of year her other passion for Christmas is on full display.

Yesterday, Cr Watts, aka Mrs Claus, took a break from her day job organising Santa photos with the Scone Neighbourhood Centre to check the finishing touches on Scone’s new Christmas tree.

“I just love Christmas and for the past few years I’ve wanted to see more Christmas cheer in our towns,” said Cr Watts.

“There have been a few attempts before that were a bit bah-humbug, but I think this tree is fantastic,” she said.

“This is about Council being part of the community and this is something in the centre of town everyone can enjoy,”

“I wanted to put the star on top but it was a bit high,” Cr Lee Watts laughed.

There are plans for all major towns to have a special tree for their community.
