Half A Century of Help

THE Scone Neighbourhood Resource Centre is often the first port of call for people needing to access a range of community services and three members have been recognised for their outstanding service. 

This month Lee Watts has dedicated 25 years, Jaala Presland 15 years and Jan Kelaher 12 years to the Centre.

Stephen Watson, president of the Centre, said while the Centre is facing funding challenges, the staff were providing excellent support to the community and thanked them on behalf of the Committee.

“Lee, Jaala and Jan have a wealth of local knowledge, a large network of contacts and an excellent understand of the challenges faced by the local community,” said Mr Watson.

“The Centre itself faces its own challenges however staff continue to find new ways to meet those challenges and make ends meet so the programs and services that support this area continue,” Stephen Watson said.
